Jupi's Responsible AI Manifesto

Hey Jupi adventurer! We built Jupi so adults can spark imagination, share stories, and connect with unforgettable AI characters. But great power brings great responsibility. Here's our promise--and a quick guide--on how we keep Jupi fun, free-spirited, and safe.

1. Grown-Ups Only

Jupi is an 18+ community. You must be of legal age to create an account, buy a subscription, or interact with our characters.

Parents: please use device-level parental controls on iOS or the web to block Jupi--or any AI app--you consider inappropriate for kids. If you believe a minor has accessed Jupi, email jupi@jupi.chat and we'll act fast.

2. Safety First, Freedom Always

  • No minors, exploitation, or non-consensual content--ever.
  • No encouragement of self-harm or violence. Such requests are blocked by our moderation filters.
  • No medical, legal, or professional advice. Our characters are creative fiction, not licensed experts. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, or professional advice.

Our AI models use real-time filters and are constantly improving. If you spot anything risky, flag it so we can fix it.

2a. Suicide Prevention & Crisis Support

We take mental health and safety seriously. Our platform uses advanced moderation filters to detect content related to suicidal ideation, self-harm, or suicide.

When we detect such content:

  • The message is immediately blocked to prevent harmful responses.
  • Users are shown a notification directing them to crisis service providers.
  • We refer users to professional help through established crisis lines.

Crisis Service Providers:

  • United States: Dial 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (available 24/7)
  • United Kingdom & Ireland: Call 116 123 for the Samaritans (available 24/7)
  • International: Please contact your local crisis helpline or emergency services

If you're experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please reach out to these services or speak with someone you trust. You don't have to go through this alone.

3. You're in Control

AI is a creative tool, and you decide how to use it. You are responsible for the content you create, generate, and share through Jupi. Use it mindfully, respect others' boundaries, and make sure your creations comply with our Terms of Service and all applicable laws.

4. Radical Transparency

Every chat in Jupi is AI-generated. Characters may act human, but they're not. We disclose that on every chat screen and flag experimental features so you always know what you're interacting with.

5. Privacy by Default

Your stories belong to you. Chat logs are not stored on our servers. We can only view snippets if you share them via Luciq for support. Deleting the app wipes local chat history, but for full account deletion you must use the in-app delete-account feature.

6. Flag What's Not Right

See a character or message that crosses the line? Tap the cog icon > "Flag" or the "Report" button on the character chat page. Community reports help us keep Jupi safe.

7. Continuous Improvement

We don't develop our own AI models, but we rely on LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral etc. We continuously monitor the models and their outputs, and we have moderation in place who review and block output that is not appropriate.

By using Jupi, you agree to our Terms of Use. You control how you interact with AI--use it mindfully and responsibly.
